ANTIQUE FREIGHT ELEVATOR.
Early 1900 Otis freight elevator serves 3 floors in Evanston, IL. The hoist mechanism is ceiling mounted on the ground floor. The motor operates the cable sheave through a series of pulleys, a leather belt and reduction gears. The elevator is hand operated with limit stops on top and bottom floors. The elevator was last used about 2 years ago. The electricity is now shut off. We are selling in ''as-is, where-is'' condition. Buyer will make own arrangements to dismantle and transport. This fascinating industrial artifact could be a source of spare parts or remade into an interesting attraction for a retail store or residential loft. Price is negotiable.
